Troubleshooting a call

Nana Chat calls work like a private FaceTime between your family circle and your loved one's screen. Both sides need Nana Chat open at the same time.

Before you call

  • Confirm their device link is open in the browser (not closed or asleep).
  • On your side, stay on the circle page while calling.
  • Allow microphone (and camera for video) when the browser asks.

Call rings but never connects

Some home or hospital networks block peer-to-peer calls. If it keeps failing, email us at hello@nanachat.com — we can enable a relay (TURN) on your account for more reliable connections.

No sound

  • Turn volume up on both devices — tablets often use side buttons.
  • Make sure the browser tab is not muted (check the tab icon).
  • Try a voice call first if video is struggling on an older device.

You can always leave a voice note or photo instead — it lands on their screen even when they miss the call.
